Ethereum's tamper-free smart contracts will establish the terms and conditions at the beginning of every consignment, including deadlines and payable amount. This will serve as a valid proof in contrast to the poor system of quotes and bids used in existing platforms, that are unreliable. Moreover, the escrow system will ensure that payments are processed without fail depending on the amount of work completed.

Challenges of the Current System

Alright, so there is no doubt about the bright prospects of the gig industry, does that mean it is all sunlight and rainbows there? Unfortunately, no. For one, there are no foolproof methods for remuneration. Freelancers being hoodwinked into completing arduous tasks only to find their clients vanish into thin air is still not a rare scenario. At best the defaulters are banned from the platform; taking legal action is expensive and strenuous for freelancers and most commonly the end result is loss of money and effort.

Ecosystem

The GigTricks ecosystem architecture has been designed to be highly scalable to ensure its flexibility. This simply means that the freelancers will be able to sell/market their products and/or services online or offline as a part of the ecosystem. For example, a digital marketer could develop and also offer a course or sell a product or service on the GigTricks platform either online or offline (that is, in person). The freelancer can then recieve payment via the GigTricks crypto tokens named as the GigBit token (GBTC).

Current Problems

The biggest issue that a freelancer face now a day is the payment. Client and the freelancer may easily agree on the terms of price and services, but ultimately the freelancer has to bear the mercy of client for the payment. On an average a freelancer looses around $ 6000 per year due to lack of payments from clients.
They can not even go for a legal action because the amount owed is too little. On the other side, client faces the risk of meeting up with unethical and unprofessional freelancers which can delay the service or product until the client pays some add on to the freelancer. Also, freelancer face the bounding payment of 'gig' for registration with websites.
These gigs can range from 10 percent to 20 percent. Fees has to be paid by the freelancer even if they choose to operate outside the popular websites.

Making a perfect match between the right projects and the right candidate is the ultimate aim of the platform. Blockchain technology will solve some of the biggest problems of the freelancer industry. It will create transparent payment system with a smart contract-based relationship between the client and the freelancer.

GIGBBIT TOKEN (GBTC)

The GIgBit token (GBTC) is based on ER20 format and it works in the Ethereum nettwork because it will make it easily adoptable by the community and by the market. The Ethereum based token is a good solution for regular payments that are above small amounts such as $0.0001. GigTicks will utilize GigBit credits for micropayments to make them more cost-effective. The Gigbit credits are not tradable. They will be issued by the platform and can be converted to GigBit tokens only. The GigBit credits cannot be sent from one user to another, otr outside the platform.

GitBit token will be an ERC20 based utility token on the platform serving several purposes. It will be used for:

Buying subscriptions for services or products
Buying products and services from any freelancer across the globe.
Payment of rewards or tips.
Buying of advertising space
Voters in dispute resolution and users based on their engagement within the platform can be rewarded as well.
